概要 This study investigated the association of health status, health/dietary habits, dietary environment, psychological aspects, and interpersonal contact with QOL among older adults in the Republic of Palau. In August 2017, 62 participants aged 55 or older attending the Senior Citizen Center completed an original questionnaire survey regarding health and eating habits, food environment, psychological aspects, interpersonal contact, and the WHOQOL-BREF.42 of the participants also underwent anthropometric and physical fitness tests at the center, and 16 completed a questionnaire survey via home visits.81% of the participants were in the obese category by BMI. The total score for the WHOQOL-BREF was high at 3.7 points, but the physical health score was the lowest. The most significant factor affecting the WHOQOL scores was eating meals with family members. Elderly health/nutrition education programs in Palau should consider Palau cultural background.
