概要 | We visited seven food service facilities in educational, medical, and welfare facilities in Thailand. The facilities included two schools, three universities, and two medical and welfare facilities. Two facilities were directly managed, while the others were contracted out. School lunches were often provided for children from kindergarten through third and fourth grade, with older students purchasing their own lunches from the cafeteria at different times. School lunch menus included a staple food, main dish, side dish, and dessert. The university had multiple restaurants and convenience stores. The medical and welfare facilities provided multiple therapeutic diets. Notably, the university had installed an ultraviolet sterilizer for food utensils. The hospital used a central kitchen system. All seven facilities used a cook-and-serve system. There were no reports on school lunch services in Thailand, highlighting the differences between meal services in Japan and Thailand. |
